Miramar town centre improvements
People in your community have been working with us on ways to make it easier and safer to walk and bike around Miramar, between the eastern suburbs and into the central city.
In September 2017 we asked for feedback on proposed improvements for part of Miramar Avenue through the shopping (town) centre. The project is being progressed in two sections:
- Section 1 includes safer walking and biking paths on Miramar Avenue between Shelly Bay Road and Tauhinu Road. Councillors approved this project in 2017 and construction is now complete.
- Section 2 proposes changes to Miramar Avenue between Tauhinu Road and Park Road intersection. This project will need additional funding. The timing and project scope have not been confirmed but routes and connections were confirmed in March 2022 as part our bike network plan Paneke Pōneke.
